Over five days in October 2003, the Camden Head Pilot Station played host to the inaugural Watermark International Nature Writers’ Muster. This unique literary event brought together 6 international writers and 22 Australian writers to share their work with other writers, scholars, academics, students and readers in our community.

The outstanding natural setting of the Camden Head Pilot Station provided a potent example of an Australian place capable of inspiring creative writers and writing. The opening day of the Watermark Muster was held at the Pilot Station and the following days were held at Kendall, in the Kendall Community Hall.
